Sze Fei-Izzudin one win away from clinching Indonesian Open title


PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani are one win away from clinching the Indonesian Open title after they stunned top seeds Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae of South Korea in the semi-finals on Saturday (June 6).

World No. 8 Sze Fei-Izzuddin were forced to go the distance against the world No. 1 South Koreans but came through to win 21-18, 17-21, 21-16 in 56 minutes at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta.

The Malaysians have now equaled their head-to-head score to two wins each, following their previous three encounters which all came last year.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will face either Sabar Gutama-Moh Reza or Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin of Indonesia in the final.
