PETALING JAYA: Former world No. 1 pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani missed out on a place in the Thailand Open final after going down to India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty on Saturday (May 16).

The pros went down 21-19, 20-22, 16-22 to the top seeds in the semi-finals at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin got off to a good start by taking the opening game but Satwiksairaj-Chirag fought back to force the match into a decider.

Although the Malaysians tried to claw their way back after falling behind, it was not enough as they eventually lost.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin will next compete in the Malaysian Masters on home ground starting on Tuesday, where they will face Indonesia’s Putra Erwiansyah-Bagas Maulana in the opening round.
