Liek Hou strikes golden double in Spain

PETALING JAYA: National para shuttler Cheah Liek Hou delivered a superb double at the Spanish International, clinching both the singles and doubles titles in Toledo on Sunday (March 29).

The 37-year-old defeated Taiwan’s Fang Jen-yu 21-19, 21-16 in 35 minutes to retain his men’s singles SU5 (upper body impairment) crown.

He then teamed up with Brazil’s Yuki Rodrigues to complete the double, beating Jen-yu-Gui Yu-pu 21-11, 21-15 in just 20 minutes.

The tournament marked Liek Hou’s first outing since capturing his ninth World Championships singles title in Bahrain in February
