PETALING JAYA: Second seeds Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah are eyeing revenge as they aim to go one step better in the All-England.

The World Championships silver medallists checked into the women’s doubles quarter-finals on Thursday (March 5) in Birmingham after securing a 21-14, 21-14 win over South Korea’s Lee Seo-jin-Lee Yeon-woo in 43 minutes.

They will face Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji-Meilysa Trias next.

The Malaysians hold the edge in their head-to-head record, having beaten the Indonesians four times in five meetings, but their recent defeat in the second round of the Malaysian Open still stings.

Pearly-Thinaah believe the key to clearing the quarter-final hurdle is simple - enjoy the game.

Said Pearly: “We just need to enjoy first  - once we do that, we will be able to deliver the shots.”

The Malaysians best outing in the All-England is a quarter-final finish.

Thinaah admitted that the pair have been trying to rediscover the joy in playing despite the pressure and expectations.

"That’s something we have been wanting to do for a long time - enjoy the game despite the ups and downs.

"We are glad that we are doing that more now."
