PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah stormed their way into the Taiwan Open semi-finals after defeating home pair Lin Chih-chun-Yang Chu-yun on Friday (July 31).
The top-seeded Malaysians took just 35 minutes to win 21-14, 21-17 against the world No. 39 Taiwanese pair at the Taipei Arena.
The win sends world No. 5 Pearly-Thinaah into their first semi-final since Pearly returned from injury in late May, marking their best result since her comeback.
Youngsters Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan however could not make it a double joy for Malaysia after going down fighting 21-11, 20-22, 22-24 to Thailand's hathaithip Mijad-Napapakorn-Tungkasatan.
