Pang Ron-Pei Jing march into Korean Open quarter-finals

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing kept their momentum going at the Korean Open after cruising into the quarter-finals on Thursday (Nov 5).

The world No. 15 pair needed just 32 minutes to brush aside South Korea's Jin Sung-ik-Lee Seung-hee 21-8, 21-15 in their second-round match at the Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu.

But a tougher challenge awaits Pang Ron-Pei Jing in the quarter-finals, where they will take on China's top seeds Jiang Zhenbang-Wei Yaxin for a place in the last four.

Meanwhile, fellow Malaysians Chen Tang Jie-Chan Wen Tse saw their campaign come to an end after suffering a 7-21, 13-21 defeat to China's third seeds Cheng Xing-Zhang Chi.
