PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing continued their fine run of form after easing into the second round of the Korean Open on Wednesday (Nov 4).

Pang Ron-Pei Jing, who have enjoyed a promising run in recent tournaments, needed just 30 minutes to brush aside Thailand's Tonkid Saeheng-Tonrug Saeheng 21-10, 21-14 at the Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu.

They will next take on home pair Jin Sung-ik-Lee Seung-hee for a place in the quarter-finals.

Fellow mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Chan Wen Tse also made a winning start after comfortably beating Australia's Andika Ramadiansyah-Nozomi Shimizu 21-9, 21-14.

However, Tang Jie-Wen Tse face a more daunting task in the second round against China's third seeds Cheng Xing-Zhang Chi.

Meanwhile, women's singles shuttler Wong Ling Ching saw her campaign come to an early end after suffering a narrow 17-21, 23-21, 20-22 defeat to Indonesia's Thalita Ramadhani in the opening round.
