PETALING JAYA: Men's singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong is staying positive as he continues his recovery from knee injury.
In a recent Instagram posting, the 25-year-old Tze Yong showed that he was staying on track in his recovery when he posted a video of him jogging on a treadmill - underlining his determination to return to court.
Tze Yong underwent surgery in Doha to repair an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on his right knee in early July.
The injury was a huge blow to Tze Yong, who only returned to competitions in April after a one-year layoff following two back surgeries.
Singles coaching director Kenneth Jonassen has given a positive update on Tze Yong's recovery.
"Tze Yong is still on target in terms of his long term recovery plan. He is staying positive and very active in this process which is very important and positive," said Jonassen.
"He is still undergoing rehabilitation at the National Sports Institute (NSI).
"The long term plan is to continuously follow the step by step recovery plan with very specific targets to hit before moving on.
"We want to ensure the best possible outcome after the surgery and thereby giving him the best chance to make a successful comeback."
Tze Yong last competed in the Malaysian Masters in May where he was forced to retire after injuring his knee in the first round with the scores at 22-20, 4-3 against Hong Kong's Angus Ng Ka Long.
