Former national badminton coach Lee Guan Chong passes away


PETALING JAYA: Former national badminton coach Lee Guan Chong has passed away at the age of 87.

Guan Chong, who guided the Thomas Cup Finals team in 1976, passed away peacefully at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (June 4).

Under his guidance, Malaysia went all the way to the final in the prestigious team meet before finishing runners-up to Indonesia in Bangkok.

Guan Chong remained active in coaching until he retired in 2017.
