PETALING JAYA: Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have found their new women’s doubles coach in former world No. 1 Wong Pei Tty.
She will assist women’s doubles head coach Rosman Razak.
This marks the 44-year-old’s return as coach following her first stint that ended in 2020.
During her initial tenure, she was instrumental in the formation of the Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah pairing.
Also reentering the coaching team will be 36-year-old Teo Kok Siang, who was part of BAM for five years from 2017 before departing to train other players.
He will assume the responsibility of coaching the mixed doubles players.
Both coaches will report to national doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky on Tuesday.
BAM emphasised that their appointments align with ongoing efforts to enhance the coaching structure by bringing in experienced coaches with a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
The fact that both coaches have previously collaborated with BAM strengthens their appointment, as they are already familiar with the organisation’s structure.
