Badminton: Zii Jia storms into All-England quarter-finals

PETALING JAYA: Independent men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia (pic) stormed into the last eight of the All-England after sweeping aside Japan's world No. 15 Kenta Nishimoto 21-15, 21-10 in Birmingham late Thursday (March 16).

World No. 4 and 2021 winner Zii Jia, who has been struggling this year prior to the tournament, looked to have found some form just at the right moment as he dominated the match from start to finish.

The 24-year-old had also reached his first quarter-final of the year in individual tournaments.

Zii Jia has a tough task next as he takes on another Japanese, world No. 6 Kodai Naraoka.

The Malaysian had lost narrowly to Naraoka in the first round of the Malaysian Open in January.
