Azeem’s coach is here, but his heart is in Paris

My mentor: Mohd Azeem Fahmi with his coach Amir Izwan Tan Abdullah.

PETALING JAYA: Amir Izwan Tan Abdullah will be glued to the television when national sprinter Mohd Azeem Fahmi takes to the tracks of Paris. He must be wishing he could be there by Azeem’s side.

After all, the national development coach has trained Azeem since he was 13, and in many of the biggest stages of athletics. He was with Azeem at the World Junior Championships in 2022, the World Championships and the Hangzhou Asian Games last year.
