KUALA LUMPUR: Archers Alang Ariff Aqil Ghazali and Fatin Nurfateh Mat Salleh showed nerves of steel to help Malaysia secure a gold medal in the compound mixed team event at the Asia Cup in Bangkok.

In the final yesterday, Fatin and Alang kept their composure despite falling behind and having to deal with windy conditions before edging Kazakhstan’s Viktoriya Lyan-Andrey Tyuntyun 152-149.
