PETALING JAYA: Syaqiera Mashayikh exited the Paris Olympics stage on a heartbreaking note after losing by a single arrow in the women's recurve individual event at Les Invalides on Tuesday.

Syaqiera, making her second straight Olympic appearance, beat Moldova's Alexandra Mirca (30-27, 27-23, 26-24) in her opening round clash to advance to the top 32 stage.

However, Syaqiera's run ended in the second round after going down 5-6 (27-27, 28-28, 28-24, 27-27, 24-29) to Brazilian Ana Luiza Sliachhticas Caetano.

It will be Paris debutant Ariana Nur Dania Mohd Zairi's turn to shoot in the individual round when she takes on Italian Chiara Rebagliati in the first round on Wednesday.
