Fatin saves the blushes for Malaysia in Bangkok

PETALING JAYA: Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh (pic) came to Malaysia’s rescue with a bronze medal in the women’s compound individual on a day the men’s recurve archers flopped miserably at the Asia Cup Stage 2 in Bangkok.

Nurfatehah was in her element as she beat Asian Games semi-finalist Huang I-jou of Taiwan en route to the semi-finals. She, however, failed to beat Amaya Cojuangco of the Philippines, narrowly losing 134-135 to the former World Cup bronze medallist.
