Negri Sembilan MCA welcomes the state government’s announcement that residential assessment rates will not be increased for the next five years, fulfilling a pledge made by Barisan Nasional in the 16th Negri Sembilan state election.
This is more than just a policy decision. It demonstrates that when Barisan makes a promise to the rakyat during an election, it is not merely making empty political pledges. Once elected, those promises must be honoured and delivered.
For too long, voters have seen election manifestos filled with grand promises that, after the election, turn into nothing more than “empty words”. This time, Barisan is showing through concrete action that its manifesto is not a mere piece of paper, but a commitment that must be fulfilled.
Assessment rates may appear to be a small issue, but for every homeowner, they are a real expense that has to be paid every year. Keeping residential assessment rates unchanged for five years will directly help ease the financial burden on households.
For ordinary families, no increase in residential assessment rates over the next five years is genuinely good news, particularly at a time when people are facing rising living costs. The Negri Sembilan state government is taking concrete steps to reduce the burden which people shoulder.
Negri Sembilan MCA stresses that this is only the beginning. With the first promise now being fulfilled, Negri Sembilan Barisan and Negri Sembilan MCA will continue working to ensure that more pledges made in the election manifesto will be progressively implemented.
Negri Sembilan MCA will work together with the state government to push for and monitor the implementation of these election commitments. The rakyat must be able to see tangible changes and, more importantly, benefit from policies that serve all Negri Sembilan residents.
