Challenging fellow public transport passengers to practise empathy


CONGRATULATIONS to the Transport Ministry on the upcoming opening of the LRT3 Shah Alam Line. However, as a senior citizen who is a regular user of the LRT services, I am deeply concerned over the noticeable erosion of basic commuter etiquette, especially regarding seating on the trains.

Far too often, I have seen able-bodied, younger commuters occupying seats, engrossed in their gadgets and ignoring the elderly, disabled or pregnant passengers standing around them.
