I REFER to the recent reports on the government’s plan to explore a hybrid Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Sales and Services Tax (SST) system.
We are told that the current SST is “sneaky” because it hides taxes in the price tag. Under SST, the flour mill and bakery may not technically pay tax to the government, but they absorb the cost of their raw materials anyway.
