Let’s all embrace duty of care to keep our roads safe

I REFER to the report “Drunk driver in fatal Klang crash remanded for four days” (The Star, March 30). The tragic news of the fatal crash in Klang has ignited a familiar firestorm of public outcry. Predictably, the digital space is flooded with demands for harsher penalties and the inevitable calls for more frequent police roadblocks.

Some have even devolved into the destructive habit of viewing this tragedy through racial lens, a move that does nothing to heal the victim’s family or prevent the next collision.
