Driving gender stereotypes must be broken

THE first lesson in my six-hour mandatory course for a Malaysian driving lesson was not about road signs or safety. It was about gender.

My instructor raised a question to the class: “You’re approaching a red light and the road is empty. Who is more likely to speed through it – men or women?”
