THE reality of the US-Israel-Iran conflict is reflected not in our subsidised pumps but in the market rates. Since the start of the conflict, we have seen non-subsidised RON95 climb to RM3.27 per litre while RON97 has surged to RM4.55 and diesel in the peninsula has hit a record RM4.72.
As an oil-producing nation, the government is absorbing this massive “gap” to shield us, but this fiscal burden grows heavier with every litre pumped.
