FOR many Malaysians, gig work is no longer merely a side income. It is the primary source of livelihood for many families.

However, full-time gig workers often face major challenges such as the absence of formal contracts, no guaranteed minimum income and lack of comprehensive protection that is enjoyed by workers in formal employment.
