Regulate finance to save the country’s biodiversity

A NEW report by Sahabat Alam Malaysia, in partnership with the Forests & Finance Coalition, reveals that Malaysia’s financial regulatory sector is not yet fully aligned with the Global Biodiver-sity Framework’s (GBF) 2030 targets and highlights areas where further alignment could be considered.

This report reviews key policies and guidelines published to date by Bank Negara and the Securities Commission, including those on climate risk, sustainable finance and sustainability reporting frameworks.
