See the person, not the skin colour

LAST week at a salon in Singapore, the hairstylist asked if I was from India. When I said I'm Malaysian, she asked if I was Malay. I explained I'm Malaysian Indian and asked her where she was from. She said she's Malaysian Chinese.

I was genuinely surprised. Surely she'd met other Indian Malaysians before? So I asked her, a bit puzzled, "Have you never met Indians like me in Malaysia?"
