Towards a barrier-free, inclusive transport system in Malaysia

WE welcome and applaud the Madani government’s announcement under Budget 2026 that it will roll out 100 mobility vans for persons with disabilities (orang kurang upaya, OKU). This marks a significant recognition of the mobility challenges faced daily by the OKU community across Malaysia.

We thank Prasarana (the government agency charged with the transformation of the country's public transportation systems and services), the Transport Minister, and the Prime Minister for listening and responding to the voices of the OKU community. It is heartening to see the  government taking positive action to address our call for inclusive public transport.
