MCMC's RM100,000 fine on Sin Chew Daily raises concerns of double standards, selective enforcement

Selangor MCA Youth is concerned over the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's (MCMC) recent decision to impose an RM100,000 fine on Sin Chew Media Corporation, the publisher of Sin Chew Daily, following an authorisation by the Attorney General's Chambers, over a graphical error involving the Jalur Gemilang.

This decision indicates a disproportionate approach that could potentially undermine press freedom. It also raises questions about consistency in enforcement, particularly when comparing how different entities are treated in similar situations.
