We can all play a role in suicide prevention

TODAY is World Suicide Prevention Day. The triennial theme for World Suicide Prevention Day (2024–2026), “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, challenges us to debunk the harmful myths, reduce stigma and foster open and compassionate conversations about suicide.

Suicide remains a serious public health concern in Malaysia and around the world. In Malaysia, mental health issues have been on the rise with more people experiencing stress, feelings of depression and anxiety due to social, economic and personal pressures.
