I WRITE to shed light on the plight of doctors serving in private general practice, particularly those working as locums whose challenges remain largely invisible to the broader public eye and, regrettably, even within the medical fraternity itself.
Locum doctors, many of whom contribute tirelessly to bridge the gap in our healthcare system, are frequently expected to endure long shifts without any provision for paid breaks. They are seldom allotted protected time for rest, meals or even prayer.
