When will the cry of our wildlife be heard?

THE tragic death of a baby elephant on the East-West Highway recently has again forced Malaysians to confront the grim reality of human-wildlife conflict.

Since 2020, 2,361 wild animals, including eight elephants, have been killed in vehicle collisions. Monkeys, pangolins, tapirs, and countless other species are losing their lives not just to speeding vehicles but to the widespread destruction of their habitats too.
