THE recent implementation of a targeted diesel subsidy solely based on income data has raised concerns about the fairness and effectiveness of such an approach.

This new system of targeted subsidies is anchored by the comprehensive data platform known as the Central Database Hub, or Pangkalan Data Utama (Padu), which aims to ensure that subsidies reach those who truly need them.
