DMA Islam, a Malaysian TikToker and, in my opinion a self-proclaimed intellectual colossus, recently sparked controversy with his comments about the value of university degrees.

Although he emphasised the importance of practical experience and entrepreneurship, he also stressed that a university degree is not essential for success since the primary motivation for most students is getting a job rather than acquiring knowledge.
