IN response to “Let’s continue the calculation in maths” (The Star, Aug 15), I wish to share some of my thoughts on a few aspects mentioned in the letter.
Mathematics constitutes a few branches, such as arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry and geometry, that are taught in schools. Among these branches, arithmetic primarily involves calculations and the order of operations according to the BODMAS (Brackets, Order of powers or roots, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction) rule.
