In praise of Socso

I AM writing to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) for its compassionate and proactive approach in addressing the healthcare needs of dialysis patients in Malaysia. The recent launch of the dialysis centre in Klang, offering free treatment to contributors, is a commendable initiative that deserves recognition and support from the community.

As highlighted in the report “Socso opens dialysis centre in Klang” (The Star, July 7), the establishment of the Socso dialysis centre brings much-needed relief to individuals like Mohamad Thafiq Mohamad Azlan and Leong Theam Lee, who previously faced significant financial constraints due to the high costs of dialysis treatments in private hospitals. Their stories serve as a reminder of the daily struggles faced by many Malaysians battling end-stage kidney disease.
