Effects of corruption on common folk

THERE have been several reports of water shortage and frequent supply disruptions in various parts of Sabah, including its capital city, Kota Kinabalu. The cause can be traced directly to the industrial scale of looting of public funds meant for upgrading the state’s water supply infrastructure.

It has been reported that funds worth RM3.3bil meant for water projects were siphoned off since 2010, “RM63mil recovered in 2016 Sabah ‘watergate’ scandal, Dewan Rakyat told” (The Star, Feb 14; online at https://bit.ly/3GngEoa).
