As someone who started schooling in the 1960s, I could certainly empathise with his observations of the books by Enid Blyton and other children’s authors in shaping the world view of the young. I fondly recall reading about the exploits and adventures of the child characters in Blyton’s numerous books, including the Five Find-Outers mystery series.
