Selangor should prioritise vaccination of EMCO residents

According to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF)’s data, as of 3 July 2021, only 5.2% of Selangor’s population are fully vaccinated with two doses, lower than the national mean of 7.8%. Evidently, Selangor’s pace leaves much to be desired.

Especially with Selangor topping the infection counts daily, the Pakatan Harapan state government should implement news strategies to expedite vaccine delivery, such as taking the opportunity now to vaccinate those in EMCO areas, especially in Petaling Jaya. This would not only prevent major outbreaks, but also reduce the rate of mortality from the coronavirus.
