Give them room to teach

TEACHER burnout will not be solved by another motivational talk, wellness poster, or compulsory workshop. Schools must remove the conditions that exhaust teachers and protect their teaching time.

First, every school should conduct a “burden audit” each term. Teachers can identify reports, meetings, chat groups, and repeated data entries that add little value. Leaders must remove, combine, or simplify them. If a task does not improve learning, safety, or accountability, it should not survive the audit.
