Take vaccines to the rakyat, don’t make them travel

Bloomberg

I READ with alarm the announcement that the government will set up more mega vaccination centres. This surely goes against what is really required to have the widest possible reach to all strata of the rakyat as well as SOP-compliant crowd management.

Not only would mega centres have the potential to create “vaccination centre clusters” resulting from unmanageable crowds but they can also cause inconvenience to people who have to travel across district borders or even state borders to reach them – my friend who lives in Bukit Jelutong, Selangor, was allotted a vaccination appointment in Selama, Perak!
