Impose laws to reduce reliance on foreign workers


A REPORT titled “Mamak and Indian eateries still facing labour shortages” (The Star, March 20; online at bit.ly/4sqtAQ5) highlights how certain economic sectors are still heavily reliant on foreign labour.

Malaysian Muslim Restaurant Owners Association president Datuk Mohamed Mohsin Abdul Razak said restaurant operators “are in critical need of workers” and many of their members’ businesses “are on the brink of winding up” due to issues in hiring foreign workers.
