GLOBAL learning in health sciences has long been equated with physical mobility, such as overseas electives, international exchanges and short-term placements.
These experiences are often viewed as essential preparation for graduates entering the global workforce. In practice, however, such opportunities remain accessible only to a small proportion of students. Rising travel costs, visa restrictions, climate concerns and widening equity gaps are making traditional mobility increasingly unsustainable.
