Brothers win gold at global science competition

TWO “young scientists” from SJK(T) Simpang Lima in Klang, Selangor, achieved top honours at the Global Summit 2025 – STEM for Sustainable Development Goals in Kathmandu, Nepal, Makkal Osai reported.

Competing against participants from 15 countries, brothers Devavarshan and Devadarshan Ezhumalai won gold medals for their “solar-powered rainwater purifier”.

The Malaysian team, consisting of 47 students in 17 teams, secured 13 golds, three silvers and a bronze overall.

A young man grazing cattle in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, heard cries and went to investigate.

Villagers rescued the baby, who was wrapped in cloth and buried about a foot deep. She had a hand injury, and was covered in ants.

Authorities are investigating to identify the baby’s parents and those responsible for the burial.
