NEW YORK, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar strengthened in late trading on Tuesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.08 percent to 101.187 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1420 dollars from 1.1425 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.3255 dollars from 1.3257 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 162.62 Japanese yen, higher than 161.97 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8083 Swiss francs from 0.8075 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.4204 Canadian dollars from 1.4203 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 9.7005 Swedish kronor from 9.7084 Swedish kronor.
