2 killed, 9 injured in drone attacks in Donetsk region


MOSCOW, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and nine others were injured on Tuesday in the Donetsk region in attacks carried out by drones, regional leader Denis Pushilin said.

"Two civilians, including a staff member of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' fire and rescue unit, were killed, and nine other civilians, among them three employees of the emergency ministry, were injured today in strikes conducted by Ukrainian attack drones," Pushilin wrote in a Telegram post.

He added that three residential buildings, two civilian infrastructure facilities, one bus, one ambulance and six trucks were damaged across the urban districts of Donetsk, Makeyevka, Horlivka and Yenakiieve, as well as the Kurakhove and Telmanove municipal districts.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, its air defense system intercepted and destroyed 121 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over multiple Russian regions and the waters of the Sea of Azov within a single day.
