Photo show on Chinese modernization held in Moscow

MOSCOW, June 24 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition on the achievements of Chinese modernization was held in Moscow on Tuesday at the Chinese Embassy in Russia, drawing over 400 attendees from political, media and business circles, as well as youth representatives of China and Russia.

The exhibition features 40 selected Xinhua News Agency photographs showcasing landmark and groundbreaking achievements China has made in economy, society, science and technology, culture, and other areas.

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said that the photo exhibition has a distinctive theme and profound historical context.

He said that through these photos, Russian people can quickly gain insight into contemporary China and its development accomplishments.

This year marks three important milestones: the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination, the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, and the start of the China-Russia Year of Education, Zhang said, adding that China and Russia have seen high-quality growth in cooperation across all fields.

China's visa-free policy for Russian citizens has been extended until the end of 2027, continuously facilitating friendly exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, he said.

Vladimir Zakharov, a famous Russian orientalist and diplomat, said the exhibition illustrates China's remarkable achievements.

"China's advances in high-tech sectors stand out in particular. It demonstrates robust innovation capacity and world-leading technological prowess across AI, robotics and many other fields, leaving a deep impression," he said.

Mikhail Morozov, deputy editor-in-chief of Russia's Trud newspaper, told Xinhua that the exhibition presents a wide array of China's feats in science, technology, industry and beyond, including its first satellite, first high-speed railway and first nuclear power plant. "As China marches toward its Second Centenary Goal, the country will surely attain its set objectives steadily," he said.

Co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Xinhua News Agency, the photo exhibition was held alongside the launch ceremony of the China-themed new media works contest during the embassy's open house for Russian online Influencers.
