U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, June 15 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 468.77 points, or 0.92 percent, to 51,671.03. The S&P 500 added 122.83 points, or 1.65 percent, to 7,554.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 795.1 points, or 3.07 percent, to 26,683.94.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with technology and communication services leading the gainers by rising 3.39 percent and 2.42 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and real estate led the laggards by dropping 3.58 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.
