U.S. dollar ticks down


NEW YORK, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.12 percent to 99.631 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.1595 dollars from 1.1575 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3419 dollars from 1.3416 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 160.31 Japanese yen, higher than 160.24 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.794 Swiss francs from 0.7968 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3987 Canadian dollars from 1.398 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 9.3913 Swedish kronor from 9.4215 Swedish kronor.
