1st LD: Knife attack reported on train in Saarland, southwestern Germany

FRANKFURT, March 25 (Xinhua) -- A female was injured in a knife attack on a regional train between Saarbruecken and Sankt Wendel on Wednesday afternoon, according to police in the southwestern German state of Saarland.

According to police, a physical altercation broke out between two individuals. A man allegedly attacked a girl with a knife, injuring her.

The suspect has been arrested. The victim is receiving medical treatment, though the severity of her injuries remains unclear.

The train stopped at Sulzbach station, which was subsequently cordoned off by police.
