Several people stabbed in downtown Vancouver in Canada

OTTAWA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A number of people were stabbed in downtown Vancouver in Canada Wednesday, said local police.

The Vancouver Police Department said in a statement on social media that police officers were responding to the "violent incident" near Robson and Hamilton streets.

The suspect has been shot by police, the statement said.
