U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, April 2 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 61.07 points, or 0.13 percent, to 46,504.67. The S&P 500 added 7.37 points, or 0.11 percent, to 6,582.69. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 38.234 points, or 0.18 percent, to 21,879.182.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with real estate and technology leading the gainers by going up 1.48 percent and 0.73 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer discretionary and health led the laggards by dropping 1.49 percent and 0.68 percent, respectively.
