Azerbaijani, Iranian presidents discuss continued humanitarian aid

BAKU, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss ongoing humanitarian support and regional peace, said the Azerbaijani presidential press service.

Pezeshkian thanked Aliyev for the humanitarian aid Azerbaijan has provided to Iran.

Aliyev confirmed that Azerbaijan's humanitarian aid to Iran will continue, with the next shipment of aid to be sent shortly.

Expressing his concern over the escalating situation in Iran, Aliyev offered prayers for the Iranian citizens who lost their lives and voiced hope for a swift end to the confrontation.

The two leaders emphasized the necessity to achieve peace in the region as soon as possible, the press service said.
